Tennant D. Magee, Sr., is AV-Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer rating for legal ability and ethical standards bestowed by that organization, and was selected for the 2015-24 New Jersey Super Lawyers lists, as well as the 2014 New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars list.
Mr. Magee is a former Judicial Clerk to the Presiding Judge of the New Jersey Appellate Division (Hon. John E. Keefe, Sr., P.J.A.D., 2000-01), Assistant State's Attorney for Baltimore City (Juvenile, Felony, and Narcotics Divisions, 2001-04), and Assistant Attorney General for the State of Maryland (Criminal Appeals Division, 2009-10). During his approximately eighteen years in private practice, Mr. Magee's diverse experience has spanned arguing on behalf of foreign sovereign entities in the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, civil litigation in State and Federal Courts, the negotiation and drafting of complex agreements, the representation of local governments, title and real estate work, as well as the representation of individuals in municipal court, among other areas of practice. To date, he has seven reported appellate decisions (out of over approximately eighty appeals) and eleven reported decisions overall.
Presently, Mr. Magee has the honor of serving as Township Attorney for the Township of Long Beach, Borough Attorney for the Boroughs of Ship Bottom and Harvey Cedars, Legal Counsel for the Shore Conference of High Schools, and Legal Counsel for the Spring Lake Employees' Association. He previously served as Special Counsel for the Borough of West Long Branch, as Legal Counsel for PBA Local 295, and was a member of the Wall Township Board of Education.
